Locke Science Publisher
Locke Science Publisher provides basic publishing support to help authors prepare accepted manuscripts for publication in our journals. These services are offered to support clarity, consistency, and professional presentation of published articles.
1. Submission formats we accept
Authors may submit manuscripts in any standard scholarly format. We accept, for example:
Microsoft Word formats (.doc, .docx)
LaTeX source files (including .tex and associated bibliography and figure files)
other common editable formats that can be converted reliably for production
Authors do not need to format the manuscript in the final journal template at the initial submission stage. Clear structure and completeness are more important than template styling at first submission.
2. What we do after acceptance
After a manuscript is accepted, Locke Science Publisher supports preparation for publication through light production editing and formatting. This typically includes:
applying the journal’s official template and layout (headings, fonts, margins, pagination, section styles)
formatting references and citations to match journal style (where feasible)
preparing the final PDF and publication-ready files
standardizing tables, figure placement, captions, and numbering for consistency
making small language edits to improve readability, grammar, punctuation, and consistency (without changing the scientific meaning)
These edits are intended to be minor and non-substantive. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy of the content, data, and claims.
3. No fees for these services
Locke Science Publisher journals operate under a diamond open access model. There are no charges for:
submission
peer review
editorial handling
template formatting and layout after acceptance
minor language edits during production
No article processing charges (APCs) are required for publication.
4. Language requirement (English manuscripts only)
All Locke Science Publisher journals consider manuscripts written in English only. Submissions must be in clear, comprehensible academic English at the time of submission.
If English is not your first language, you are welcome to use any appropriate language-editing service before submitting your manuscript. Authors are responsible for arranging and paying for any external language editing they choose to use.
Please note:
using a language-editing service does not guarantee acceptance
Locke Science Publisher does not endorse specific third-party editing providers
our production team will not provide full rewriting or extensive language correction for manuscripts that are not already in acceptable English
5. Limits of our publishing services
To keep our process fair and sustainable, the following are not included in our standard publishing support:
major rewriting, re-structuring, or substantive editing of arguments and content
statistical re-analysis, redesign of experiments, or validation of results
creation of new figures, major redrawing, or professional graphic design services
translation from another language into English
intensive copyediting intended to rewrite the manuscript into fluent English
If a manuscript requires substantial language correction or restructuring, authors may be asked to revise it before peer review or before final acceptance.
6. Author approval of proofs
Before publication, the corresponding author will receive proofs for final checking. Authors must review proofs carefully for:
typographical errors
formatting issues
completeness of figures/tables and references
accuracy of author names, affiliations, and acknowledgements
Authors should respond within the deadline provided to avoid delaying publication.
