Connecting urban science, planning, and technology to shape smarter cities and better outcomes for people and places.
The Journal of Urban Development and Smart Cities (JUDSC) was established in 2023 and publishes peer-reviewed research focused on contemporary cities and urban transformation.
Open Access: JUDSC follows the Diamond Open Access model—completely free for both authors and readers, with no article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. It is published by Locke Science Publisher.
Publication Frequency: JUDSC publishes one volume per year with one issue under a continuous publication model. Articles are published online individually as soon as they are accepted and ready, without waiting for scheduled issue release dates. All articles published during the year are collected into the current annual volume and issue.
Scope: The journal welcomes original research and practice-oriented studies in urban development, smart city planning, and evidence-based urban policy, including governance, infrastructure, digital transformation, sustainability, resilience, and data-driven decision-making in cities.
Indexing & Abstracting: JUDSC is indexed in Google Scholar, ROAD, and Scilit.
DOIs: Each published paper is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for stable citation, linking, and long-term discoverability.
Online Edition: JUDSC is published online under ISSN 3070-8702.
